A: It’s totally normal to be nervous of the ocean. You will be with a trained surf instructor and guided every step of the way. Surfing is one of those sports where nobody shows up and is great. It takes time to understand how the ocean works. Every single person who is a great surfed started in the white wash (where you’ll be). So far there hasn’t been a single mermaid who hasn’t gotten up… even the most terrified and resistant!
A: Costa Rica is very safe and most people speak English. There are many solo women travelers and you’ll be with the group as soon as you land.
A: Regardless if you identify as a writer, you are telling your friends and family stories all the time. I will guide you through a powerful process that takes you to the raw seat of your creative passion. Take it from a girl who thought she didn’t have one creative bone in her body until she was 32 years old!
A: Becuase we have private in house chef, we can accommodate most diets.
A: There is yoga everyday on the retreat, but The Mermaid Sister is so much more than a yoga retreat. Not to worry.
A: At night and early morning there can be mosquitos but nothing extreme. You may see some geckos and the occasional ant, but they aren’t too interested in you!
A: A.100% understand being concerned about Zika, but it’s really nothing to be concerned about. Santa Teresa is full of the most beautiful, healthy children that were all born here. In fact, the Brazilian Government came forth admitting the birth defects were from dumping pesticides in the water, not from Zika.
